The work of our archaeologists is valued in academic centers on every continent. Polish scientists can be found in Egypt, Sudan, Kuwait, Italy, Montenegro, Cyprus, Ukraine, and dozens of other posts in the Mediterranean. They are of particular importance in Lebanon, where they have been working on projects carried out by the Center of Mediterranean Archeology at the University of Warsaw and the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Art Works of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw since 1996, producing many spectacular discoveries. Among them is a beautiful mosaic depicting a lioness in Chhim, whose „reconstruction” we took care of as one of the activities of the archaeological club. It is worth noting that besides other floristic and figural decorative motifs on the floor of an impressive Christian basilica, there is also an inscription in Greek, from which we learned about the time of the creation of the mosaic (498).
